Why does the media always drudge up negatives about paranormal researchers.

Before continuing we ask that you read the article linked below.

As you can see at the bottom of the article, a close friend & fellow researcher is having his character defamed by people who DON'T understand and DON'T want to understand what we do.

We here at the PVPS do not deny the fact that our main goal is research, but others do not see what we do behind the scenes for our local communities. We have spent countless hours helping local historical societies, cleaning up around cemetery plots and helping with fundraisers FREE OF CHARGE!

I remember when the founder of the former LVGHS, Scott Marsh, told me how he purchased (OUT OF HIS OWN POCKET) countless American flags that he placed on the tombstones of the vets. Scott NEVER EVER ASKED FOR MONEY OR PUBLICITY and not many people are aware he did this.

In today's times, most paranormal investigative groups spend a lot of time doing research in local cemeteries. We In no WAY SHAPE OR FORM go there to damage property or vandalize, when in fact if there's garbage lying around when we're ready to leave we pick it up regardless if it isn't ours.

As a matter of fact, my wife, in a way, “adopted” a headstone of an angel. Every few weeks she heads up to see her “angel baby” and cleans up the weeds and trash surrounding the tombstone and spends a few minutes saying a prayer.

More often then not, paranormal investigators spend countless hours in cemeteries doing research and investigating. What LOGICAL reason would we have to vandalize, destruct, and trash the place where we spend most of our time and a place where we feel at home. The old adage states, “We don't swim in your toilet, so don't pee in our pool”. Cemeteries are a home away from home to us, they offer tranquility, peace, and calmness with the occasional paranormal element.

We feel the accusations towards the PIRA organization are unjust and completely uncalled for. They defamed EVERY MEMBER of PIRA and in a sense defamed everyone associated with PIRA. They also gave EVERY paranormal investigator a bad name by calling us vandals. We beckon everyone who reads this article to stand up in our fight against these people to prove that we are researches and not vandals. We are not 16 yr old kids looking for a “hang out” spot. We are not 16 year olds looking for a place to go drinking or do drugs.  We are people who have a job to do, that is research and investigate. To keep us away from our jobs is also like telling people they cannot see their departed loved ones.

If they believe that these are the faces of vandalisim then so be it. BUT WE KNOW THE TRUTH!!!!!

Join us and paranormal investigators world wide. Tell them how you feel. Send letters to the editor asking for proof of our vandalism and if no proof can be offered a retraction must be made.
